OH YES I CAN!

I LOVE to garden. During the winter months when I can't be outside working in my garden I spend hours looking through gardening magazines, gardening books and flower and seed catalogs  dreaming about spring.  So when I found out I had a fracture in my foot I looked on the bright side and thought "at least it happened now and not in the spring!" However, every now and then we get a really nice winter day....a day to be out in the garden. Yesterday was that kind of day. I so badly wanted to be out in my garden but I thought "I can't work in the wet garden wearing this boot." Then I had an idea and thought "OH YES I CAN"....I put one plastic bag inside of another, pulled it over the boot and put the belt to my hubby's robe (sorry honey) through the handles and made a knot to hold it up. It worked like a charm and I was able to spend the afternoon working away in my garden! It was a very good day!

Happy Gardening.

  1. Christy, Oh no. I'm glad to see you're looking at the bright side. I broke my arm when I was a kid and I used to put a bread bag over my cast so I could keep it dry and float around on the lake. I hope your days in a cast fly by.

    1. Thanks Debbie. It is such a hassle wearing this thing and I can't wait to have it removed!

  2. I've used grocery bags over my shoes to get to the bird feeders in the snow! Glad you were able to enjoy your day in the garden!

    10. Hi....I'm not sure why I can't leave a comment on your blog. Yesterday I went into what I thought was the "comment box" and left a comment, but since you still can't see it I guess I didn't work. I don't think there's an error, I just think since I don't know the language I'm not putting the comment in the correct place.

    11. I don't think there is a lot of places to put a comment)))))
It's the only box that I can see
It's so strange and pity, cause I still don't have any comments in my blog((

    12. I'm sorry! I found a box and put in a comment, then another box pops up and you have to select one of several boxes (I think...I wasn't sure what it wanted me to do since I can't read it.) I selected a box and hit "enter", but obviously I didn't do something right.

  4. How on earth did you fracture your foot? Glad you found a way to keep it dry and be able to putter in your gardens. Good for you!

    1. I'm pretty sure it happened while we were hiking. It's not too bad and hopefully will be healed soon...it has to be before spring! I'm not letting a little fracture keep me from my garden...that's just not allowed!

  8. Oh, my! I hope it heals well before spring! I have a growth on my ankle that is going to be checked February 14. In March, I am supposed to have some veins injected with some stuff that will cause them to shrivel so that blood can't pool into my ankle. It stems from an injury I had when I tripped on our dog's leash outside a few years ago. I, too, hope I am all healed so I can garden, and do it without the compression socks I am currently wearing.
